Baby Shower

I overheard my 2 nieces talking about what one should get for her little unborn baby. The one that has a child already told her she would need a LOT of onsies so I bought this little inexpensive onsie & put the monkey on it myself. Thought if I liked the way it turned out, I would make more. What do you think? Any suggestions? Thanks for your suggestions in the previous post. Until next time, keep on stitching :)

Camp T-Shirts

Hubby & I are in charge of the tiny people again this year at Camp Martin. That entails us coming up with a theme, music, games & crafts. We did Noah's Ark t-shirts last year & the parents loved them. I decided to go with this little guy this year. He's made out of felt with buttons for eyes and a bead for a belly button. On the back of the shirt it says "and God made me."  I'm gonna let them dip their hands in fabric paint & put the hand prints below the words on the back. Anyone have any other suggestions or know of any fun camp ideas for 3-5 year olds?

April's IHSW

Wow, I haven't posted since last IHSW...    I stitched on this all month & have the first page just about finished. I actually didn't accomplish a lot this weekend on it though. I started on page 2 Saturday & those pitiful few stitches you see on the right is all I did. I really like the way she's looking but those confetti stitches are causing me to pull my hair out. They really do make the piece look nice though, don't they? I've noticed a couple of other Sunny stitchers. If you're a Sunny stitcher, drop me a comment & I'll have a look at your progress. Buttercup

Why do you build me up (build me up) buttercup, baby Just to let me down. The buttercups made me think of that song every time I picked it up to work on it :) I needed a break between my 2 HAED projects so I stitched this little fridge magnet up. This is a Sayclub doll converted into cross stitch. Think I'm gonna put it in a birthday card & give it to my mom for her birthday which is next month. Until next time, keep on stitching :)

Marianne is hosting this mystery SAL & here's the first part of it. It's a Christmas design in which we will all get 1 part per month until it's finished. Already anxious to get the next part. Also been stitching on Sunny a little this week but was too lazy to take a pic. Maybe next post.

I did manage to get the family together last night for a movie. We all have been wanting to see Toy Story 3. It was soooo good & we related to it so much. Such a tear jerker. Tyler was 3 when the first one came out. I can remember him running around the house with his Buzz & Woody & yelling "to infinity & beyond." Just this last year he moved onto a college campus. How fitting for Toy Story 3 to come out when Tyler went to college. It's almost as if Andy is Tyler. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. Until next time, keep on stitching :)

IHSW - February

QS Sunny

Here's my Monday update after International Hermit & Stitch Weekend (IHSW). As you can see, I didn't accomplish a lot but I guess a little is better than none. I've started another HAED design - QS Sunny. Thought I'd alternate between QS Sunny & QS Grumpy Red Fairy. Purchased her on Valentine's weekend then had hubby take me out to dinner & to purchase cross stitch stash. This is 1601 stitches. Hope you all had a great stitchy weekend. I finished this little guy up a few days ago but have just now gotten around to posting a pic. I've been frozen with all the snow that's been falling. He reminds me so much of Chilly Willy from the cartoon I watched as a kid. Anyone remember Chilly Willy the Penguin? I changed the design a little, used metallic gold thread on the sled, didn't sew the bird that was suppose to go above his head & used silver wire instead of the black. Will now go back to stitching on Grumpy. Hope you're all staying warm. Until next time, keep on stitching :)

I changed some of the original design by using a couple different thread colors & I also took the Santa hat & candy cane off the bird so I could display him all winter & not just during Christmas.
