Tree Devastation

Here are 2 of the 12 or so trees in my yard. All of them look like this. Poor things, not sure if they'll make it. I think this has probably been one of the worst storms our area has ever seen. Everyone's trees look like this for miles. Power lines down on the ground every where. We're one of the lucky ones that had power restored after 4 days, most plp are still waiting & they may be waiting for another couple of weeks.

Lazy Daysy

Today was such a lazy day. Ate pizza & brownies, watched a movie (Traitor) & some tv & sewed a bit. Traitor was ok but if you've seen one terrorist movie, you've pretty much seen them all. I also watched Legend of the Seeker. I so totally love this show but of course I was a huge Xena fan too & this show is created by the same plp that directed Xena. Here's an update of the 1920's Peacock Queen. I might actually get it finished this year - YIPPEE :-)

A Warm Winter Welcome

Here's my first finish of 2009 - A Warm Winter's Welcome by Stephanie Stouffer. Should have known I'd get a winter welcome finished about in time for spring to arrive :-) I finished it up while watching some tube Saturday. Is anyone else following the show Legend of the Seeker? I'm totally hooked. Had a Crash marathon too that airs on Starz. It's wild how they can tie all of the characters together by the ending episode.

Bikini babe has got to go...

Yeah, I watched American Idol last night & the bikini babe has got to go. Her singing was decent but her attitude stunk! The girl with all the personality could sing just as well & she barely got in by the skin of her teeth. I really liked the guy at the end that had vision trouble too. I'm sure if he makes it far enough in the show to be able to play the piano & sing, he will wow plp. I got some stitching done & will post the results soon. Now off to straighten the house a bit & try to stay warm.

Another American Idol

Looks as if another season of American Idol will start tomorrow night & you can tell how bored out of my skull I am because it actually thrills me. For some reason I'm drawn to the reality shows. Guess we'll see how the "new" judge fits in. I've started a new cross stitch project by Joan Elliot called 1920's Glamour Queen. Here's a pic. I'm really hoping posting this pic will get me motivated to finish it so I won't look back in 2015 & wonder why I never finished the peacock lady in 2009 :-)

Don't Give Up

I watched The Mist last night by Stephen King. I won't ruin it for any of you that may not have seen it but the ending was torture. Even so, it did motivate me to stop thinking about giving up so easily :-) If you haven't seen it - go see it.

Glorious Saturday Mornings

I love the kind of Saturdays where I can sleep in & when I finally do get up it's followed by grabbing a bite & watching a movie. I watched Eagle Eye this morning. It was thrilling & I've grown a little fond of Shia LaBeouf. It's hard to believe he was the kid I use to watch on Saturday mornings on the Even Stevens show. Gonna watch another movie & do some stitching tonight. Here's hoping it's as equally thrilling.

Happy New Year

I've started the new year off doing exactly what I intended to do by sorting my stash. I also noticed a pic of some snowmen that I never posted in my blog so here it is. This was my first Lizzie Kate & I quite enjoyed stitching it. I had to custom make a 9"x14" frame. It's stitched on 14 ct. misty taupe aida. Love Keeps Us Warm and indeed it does :-)
