Good Deal

Whew, it's been a while since I've posted a pic of any cross stitch projects but I haven't completely given up stitching. I've been doing a little - "little" is the key word. I did manage to buy this Joan Elliott magazine though. Got a great deal too. Unfortunately, my good deal came at a high price. It was 40% off because Borders is closing and have to liquidate their merchandise. For those of you who may not know what Borders is, it's a bookstore and one of my most favorite hangout spots. While looking thru this marvelous book with 44 charts I ran across one that is not in the book that I LOVE. This one below.

Have you seen it? I don't know what attracts me to it but it's simply gorgeous. Too bad it didn't come in the book. Last but not least, I leave you with another pic of Zoe. She loves using her toys as pillows. This is her stuff donkey which she drug to the loveseat in our bedroom and perched her little head on.

Monkeying Around

I had wrapped this monkey around Zoe and when she laid down to take her nap she ended up in this position. She gets sweeter as the days go by. Has such a loving demeanor.

Spending My Time Reading

Instead of stitching, I've been reading. This book was heart wrenching. Here's the Amazon Description:
"Night is Elie Wiesel’s masterpiece, a candid, horrific, and deeply poignant autobiographical account of his survival as a teenager in the Nazi death camps."

I'm always amazed at the human spirit when it comes to survival. If you haven't read it yet, it's a must.

Wedding Anniversary & Camp 2011

Last month hubby & I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary. We went to Nashville for the weekend & stayed in at the Marriott down on Broadway. It was awesome. We went electronics shopping where he bought me the iPad 2 with speakers that also charges. I LOVE it. Have always been a Microsoft Windows girl but Apple has won be over with the coolest toy I've ever seen. Apps are AWESOME. Have any favorite apps that you'd recommend?

The next Friday we acted as Camp Directors at the Camp Martin Day Camp. I prepared for 22 kids as we've worked at the Day Camp for 3 years prior to this one and we've never had more than 20 kids. This year we had a whomping 32 kids. They were there from 9am to 3pm and we were busy just about every minute of that time but it was sooo much fun.

Baby Shower

I overheard my 2 nieces talking about what one should get for her little unborn baby. The one that has a child already told her she would need a LOT of onsies so I bought this little inexpensive onsie & put the monkey on it myself. Thought if I liked the way it turned out, I would make more. What do you think? Any suggestions? Thanks for your suggestions in the previous post. Until next time, keep on stitching :)

Camp T-Shirts

Hubby & I are in charge of the tiny people again this year at Camp Martin. That entails us coming up with a theme, music, games & crafts. We did Noah's Ark t-shirts last year & the parents loved them. I decided to go with this little guy this year. He's made out of felt with buttons for eyes and a bead for a belly button. On the back of the shirt it says "and God made me."  I'm gonna let them dip their hands in fabric paint & put the hand prints below the words on the back. Anyone have any other suggestions or know of any fun camp ideas for 3-5 year olds?

April's IHSW

Wow, I haven't posted since last IHSW...    I stitched on this all month & have the first page just about finished. I actually didn't accomplish a lot this weekend on it though. I started on page 2 Saturday & those pitiful few stitches you see on the right is all I did. I really like the way she's looking but those confetti stitches are causing me to pull my hair out. They really do make the piece look nice though, don't they? I've noticed a couple of other Sunny stitchers. If you're a Sunny stitcher, drop me a comment & I'll have a look at your progress. Buttercup

Why do you build me up (build me up) buttercup, baby Just to let me down. The buttercups made me think of that song every time I picked it up to work on it :) I needed a break between my 2 HAED projects so I stitched this little fridge magnet up. This is a Sayclub doll converted into cross stitch. Think I'm gonna put it in a birthday card & give it to my mom for her birthday which is next month. Until next time, keep on stitching :)
